New Orleans, Louisiana
Fall 2018, Professor Cordula Roser Gray
This project was used in the early stages of a building design for understanding
the importance of the surrounding context, especially in a historical city
such as New Orleans. Through research and site visits I was able to compile
hand drawings and physical models that helped me process the complex
history of the city and it’s relationship with water. The main area of focus was
the Lafitte Greenway, which was previously a canal that connected Bayou St.
John and the Mississippi River. The Greenway is now under development
and has the potential to become a new communal space for the surrounding
neighborhoods.
